Day 21JMW NewsDay 23: Reality Tear

In an unpresidented turnover, Ronald Grump has defeated Fernando Alberto in the Scienceburg mayoral election! Despite Alberto having more actual votes, Scienceburg's incredible gerrymandering problem won Grump his new position. In his official inauguration speech, Grump had only this to say:

"According to all known laws of economics, there is no way that Scienceburg should be able to maintain a profit. Its exports are too small to get the fat little city off the ground. Scienceburg, of course, profits anyways. Because Scienceburg doesn't care what humans think is impossible."

This original quote was met with glorious applause from the audience and confusion from economists, who say that Scienceburg does not make a profit, and in fact has constantly been in the red for all 150 or so years of its existence. Alberto has yet to comment on his defeat, but

The annual Scienceburg mayoral election has come and gone, and Mayor Fernando Alberto has once again been elected with no opposition. In his official inauguration speech, Alberto had only this to say:

"Did you know that you can erase someone from the timeline and it'll be like they never existed? I found that interesting. Also, shoutout to the folks at Scienceburg Labs for solving minor problems that constantly plague me from my day-to-day life."

In other news, a large rip in reality has opened up in the mayor's office, in the mayor's chair. Actually, it's been there for all of Scienceburg's lifetime, and before that too, and actually all throughout history. But for some reason we never got around to reporting it.
